Curious about a career in technology? Technology Pathways arefully-fundedtechnology sampler programs designed to help you discover your interests.
Technology workers are in demand in B.C. and Ƶ is responding to industry needs by supporting equity-deserving groups in accessing technology education and career opportunities.
The Technology Pathwayprogram is a place to learn, discover, and explore aspects of technology and connect with others who share your interests.
From mentoring to career development, Technology Pathways are an opportunity to empower students by reducing barriers and delivering dynamic and inspiring courses. Over 15 weeks,you'll be introduced tocivil and mechanical engineering, electronics and computer science.

This is a great opportunity to get a feel for college life. You'll learn in a safe, supportive space with your peers, with classes exclusively for Indigenous people and women.

What to expect
Technology Pathways students attend Ƶ College’s Interurban Campus five days a week for 15 weeks. While you're here you'll take part in interactive learning activities and:
- Explore various technology fields including:
- Civil engineering.
- Computer science.
- Electronics.
- Mechanical engineering.
- Develop confidence in your ability to learn and succeed in one or more of the four fields of technology.
- Learn to use a technology perspective to analyze problems and consider solutions to real-world problems.
- Develop the academic and learning skills to pursue technology-based education or academic upgrading.
- Have accesstosupport services like free counselling and career planning.

Graduates of the pathway program who meet admission criteria may get priority for future technology access certificate programs, including:
- Civil Engineering Technology Access
- Computer and Engineering Technician Access
- Electronics & Computer Engineering Access
- Mechanical Engineering Technology Access

The opportunity is tailored to address the underrepresentation of Indigenous people and women in the technology sector. Itis part of the provincial government’s long-term plan to meet the growing demand for talent in B.C.’s tech sector.
Eligible students are not required to pay tuition upfront, andƵ provides additional support to help reduce barriers to education. These supports may include:
- Educational costs (student fees, books and supplies).
- Living cost supports.
- Transportation costs.
- Help navigating education and career pathways.
- Community building and mentorship opportunities.
- Access to supports like free counselling services and academic upgrading.
Adult Upgrading Grant
TheAdult Upgrading Grant (AUG)covers student fees, deposit, tuition (if applicable), required textbooks and childcare support for eligible students enrolled in 0-level upgrading courses.
How to apply
Step 1
Determine your eligibility. The opportunity is open to anyone who identifies as an Indigenous person or a woman and has:
- Grade 10 English or English 10 Ƶ Alternative recommended
- Enthusiasm to learn about four technology fields (Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Computer Science) in a postsecondary environment.
Step 2
Send a one-page letter of intent that includes:
- Your eligibility as outlined in Step 1;
- A description of why you are interested in the program, and what your future career goals are;
- Description of your past work, and educational experiences;
- Your phone and email contact information; and
- Theprogram and start date you are interested in:

- Technology Pathways for Indigenous Peoples-January 2026
